The sweepstake that makes the whole tournament matter

Draft your teams, score points for every goal and result, and compete with friends from the group stage all the way to the final.

How it works
Step 1
Create a tournament
Set up your competition, add your players, and load the teams. Wigstake generates a private link โ€” only people you share it with can see your tournament.
Step 2
Run the snake draft
On draft night, everyone picks their teams in snake order โ€” so if you pick first in round one, you pick last in round two. Everyone ends up with the same number of teams.
Step 3
Track results and win
As the tournament unfolds, enter match results and watch the leaderboard update. The player whose teams score the most points wins the pot.
Scoring

How points are scored

Every goal your team scores+1 pt
Your team wins a match+1 pt
Your team draws a match+0.5 pts
Your team loses a match+0 pts
Example: your team wins 3-1. You get 3 pts for goals + 1 pt for the win = 4 points total.
The snake draft explained

Why snake order is fairer than random

In a normal sweepstake, teams are drawn out of a hat randomly โ€” you might get all the weak teams through bad luck. The snake draft fixes this by letting everyone choose a team in turn, with the picking order flipping at the end of each round.

Say you have 4 players โ€” Sarah, Damo, Lach and Patrick. With 48 teams and 4 players, everyone picks 12 teams each. The draft goes like this:

Round
Picking order
Round 1 โ†’
SarahDamoLachPatrick
Round 2 โ†
PatrickLachDamoSarah
Round 3 โ†’
SarahDamoLachPatrick
Round 4 โ†
PatrickLachDamoSarah

Sarah picks first in round 1 but last in round 2 โ€” so the early advantage is balanced out. By the end of the draft everyone has had a fair crack at the best teams.
